From a virtual carriage ride to a 47-million-year-old primeval horse: Numerous interactive exhibits and exciting original objects invite visitors to explore the world of horses in an unusual way. Meet the impressive "Polydor", one of the most successful breeding stallions of all times, discover fascinating details about the life of pit ponies, and experience the world through the eyes of a horse. During Sunday's horse shows and in the horse park visitors can get in close touch with real horses.
The museum is open on a daily basis, i.e. on weekdays, Sundays, and public holidays as follows:
April to September: 9 am – 6 pm.
October and March: 9 am – 5 pm.
November to February: 9 am – 4 pm.
Dec 24 and Dec 31: 9 am – 12.30 p.m.
The Westphalian Horse Museum is located in the center of the zoological garden Münster ("Allwetterzoo"). Entry to the museum is included in the admission fee for the zoo.
